Each lampshade is crafted from hand-cut natural alabaster (calcite) panels. The shade is a thick, solid panel of genuine natural alabaster — not resin or printed glass. The cloud-like veining runs right through the stone, so it has real depth and real weight. As one customer put it, it's heavy and substantial the moment you lift it, and no two panels are ever alike.

Alabaster is a natural stone, so every panel has its own veining and subtle color variation. The piece you receive will differ slightly from the photos — this is inherent to real stone, not a defect.

Choose your own bulb — and dimming

It takes a standard E12 bulb (Max 40W), so you can fit an LED or a vintage Edison bulb. Dimming depends on the bulb: fit a dimmable E12 bulb with a compatible wall dimmer for full dimming control. The default bulb is not dimmable.

Is the panel real alabaster?

Yes — each panel is cut from genuine natural alabaster stone, never resin or acrylic. Because it's real stone, every panel has its own veining and slight color variation. That means yours won't look exactly like the photos — and that's the point. It's the mark of a real, one-of-a-kind piece, not a defect.

Is it plug-in or hardwired?

It's hardwired — it mounts to a standard wall junction box, with no plug or cord showing, and sits flush and close to the wall. If you're comfortable with basic wiring it's straightforward; otherwise any electrician can install it quickly. Always turn off the power at the breaker first.

What bulb does it take? Can I dim it?

Will the stone arrive safely? Isn't it fragile?

We ship natural stone every day, so it's packed to survive the journey. Each panel is secured in thick, custom-cut foam inside a reinforced box, with the hardware wrapped separately. If anything does arrive damaged in transit, message us with a photo and we'll make it right — a replacement or refund, no hassle.

How do I clean it?

Wipe both the stone and metal gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid water, harsh chemicals, and abrasive pads — alabaster is a porous natural stone, so gentle dusting is all it needs to keep its warm character for years.
